DC, get ready. Brainjams, originally conceived by Chris Heuer and friends, is about to land on your doorstep. What is it?
- It’s barn-storming
- It’s a party
- It’s speed-dating (vaguely…)
- It’s a pitch-fest
- It’s intelligent dialog and conversation
- It’s a social experiment
The point is to engage together as a group, exchange ideas, synthesize, and – ultimately – create. Sometimes you come away knowing more about social networks, new media, or new web technologies. Sometimes you come away with a new collaborator or two. In any case, you’ll meet new friends who bring their passion to making the Web work for the larger commmunity. Brainjams is about channeling that energy (that sounds more dharma than I mean it) to create new ideas and to shape the next wave of innovation on the web.
The format changes a little every time we host one of these things. We’re experimenting, learning a little about what works best as we go. There are always festivities at the end of the day – and DC will be no different.
It’s great to see Stowe Boyd, Sasha Cohen, and Ken Yarmoush will be there.
We want you there too! As a former resident of Adams Morgan, and fellow DC citizen along with Chris, we’re hoping you can come and get into the conversation.
